Package Master File

Packages consist of one or more services bundled together and sold as a unit.

Depending on appropriate user rights, the following functions may be carried out within the package master file:

•    enter new packages

•    modify existing packages

•    delete packages

•    hide packages

•    assign company rates

•    print package master records

Search for existing packages, enter new packages and change the data of existing packages, by using the buttons search, new and modify.

Use the print-button to print a package master record.

Packages can be deleted only if there are no postings and no reservations for this package in the data base. Use the delete-button to carry out this function. The alternative to deleting a package is to “hide” it: The package will then be disabled, however, SIHOT will still be able to provide accurate statistics.

There are different types of packages, which are explained in detail later in this chapter:

•    Standard rates

•    Packages

•    Packages defined by length of stay

•    Room rate packages

•    Flexrates

Entering the package type in the package master is of particular importance for the definition of room nights in the statistics – in particular company revenue. (See also registry key accommodation service type [28657]). A package will only produce a room night if accommodation is entered as the package type.

In a MPE-environment and when working with SIHOT.CRS, the profile for central guests is identified by a green rate code-field.
