The configuration in the package masterfile determines how discounts on packages are processed. There are three options:
1. on package
The discount applies to the total package price.
2. on components
The discount is calculated based on discountable elements of the component list only. Non-discountable services on the component list are not included in the discount.
3. not possible
The package cannot be discounted.
When applying a discount “on package”, the discount is calculated on the total package price, including any non-discountable elements on the component list. However, when distributing the revenue, SIHOT deducts the discount from discountable elements only.
è EXAMPLE: A package priced € 100,00 contains accommodation and a non-discountable breakfast at the price of € 10,00. A discount of 20% is to be extended.
Calculation discounted package price: Discount: |
€ 100,00 - 20% = € 80,00 € 20,00
| |
Calculation accommodation revenue:
Distribution of revenue:
|
package revenue minus breakfast minus discount
breakfast: accommodation: |
€ 80,00 € 10,00 € 20,00 ---------- € 70,00
€ 10,00 € 70,00 |
Under certain circumstances, this calculation may lead to a negative revenue on a discountable package component (usually accommodation). To avoid this situation, activate registry key [5481]. When this registry key is activated, the discount is deducted from all elements on the component list, including the non-discountable ones.
Using above example, the calculation would then be as follows:
Calculation discounted package price: Discount: |
€ 100,00 - 20% = € 80,00 € 20,00
| |
Calculation breakfast revenue:
Calculation accommodation revenue: |
normal price minus discount 20%
remaining revenue minus discount 20% |
€ 10,00 € 2,00 ---------- € 8,00
€ 90,00 € 18,00 ---------- € 72,00 |
