The package master file determines how a room rate is calculated. There are different package types, each of which calculates the rates in their own specific way.
There are five different types of package rates:
7. Rates depending on length of stay
Use seasonal rates or weekend rates to vary the package prices as required.
If you allocate the package to a company or to an allotment or group block, SIHOT automatically creates a sub-package in which you may define different rates for the client or allotment/group block specifically.
By entering a particular person type or rate segment in the package master file, SIHOT will also create sub-packages with varying package prices.
When these factors apply in combination, the applicable rate will be determined in the following order of priority:
1. Company’s seasonal rate
2. Company’s weekend rate
3. Seasonal rate
4. Weekend rate
5. Standard rate
The program Post fix services checks which of these rates applies and posts the rate accordingly.
The rates within a package are based on the so-called rate category in the reservation. I.e. no matter which category the guest has booked or which they are actually checked into - the room rate applied depends on the entry in the field Rate category. For example, if a guest has booked a single room, but there are none available on the day of arrival, you can check the guest into a double room and still charge the confirmed single room rate.
