The reservation types are also important to determine the status of a reservation. This field is important not only for the futher processing of the reservation but also for statistical purposes.
SIHOT uses the following standard reservation types; however, these may vary from hotel to hotel:
• 1 - guaranteed
Normally, this implies that a confirmation and/or guarantee of payment has been received and the room is held for guest regardless of his/her arrival time. Non-arrivals may be charged according to hotel policy.
• 2 - not guaranteed
There is no confirmation or guarantee of payment in case of non-arrival. If required, the room may be released as of a certain time and let to other guests.
• 3 - walk-in
guests arriving at the hotel without a reservation
• 4 - pre-blocked, 5 - group block, 6 - group reservation, 0 - group block offer
see chapter Group Reservations
• A - turned away
Turnaway reservations that could not be confirmed by the hotel due to high occupancy or other reasons. Activate registry key [8992] to ensure that a reason is recorded for each turnaway.
• E - error
use in case auf faulty reservations, double bookings etc.
• K - allotment, I - allotment-confirmed
see chapter Allotments
• L - room blocked
Special reservation type to be used in HQ and Central Reservations only. See chapter “SIHOT.CM” - Reservation Type L.
• M - moved
In MPE-installations, this status is applied automatically when a reservation is moved from one property to another.
• N - no-show
status of a reservation after being released due to non-arrival
• O - optional
Non-confirmed reservations which are being held until a certain option date, after which either a confirmation or a cancellation is required.
• S - cancellation
cancellation on the part of the guest
• W - waitinglist
At the time of booking, the hotel is unable to confirm the reservation and the rooms are waitlisted. The waitlist can be prioritised to ensure that regular and VIP-guests are favoured in case of vacancies.
