The function Search & merge is a tool to eliminate duplicate guest profiles. It facilitates the search for duplicate entries and merges the duplicates, to ensure the statistical data is not lost. The data of the duplicate record(s) is transferred to the one correct record. This record replaces the duplicate record in any existing reservations, rooming list entries, guest accounts and other accounts. Once these references have been updated with the correct profile, the duplicate profile is deleted.
Companies or agencies can only be deleted if all links (company rates, allotments, discounts, etc.) have been removed.
You can search & merge manually, i.e. look for specific profiles and check these profiles before merging, or run a program to do this automatically.
NOTE:
The duplicate check is
case-insensitive with regards to all “no name” entries.
