Pre-authorisation of credit cards

If interfaced with an online credit card terminal (e.g. 3C Payment or Sipay), a dialog window can be displayed automatically upon check-in to carry out a pre-authorisation of the guest’s credit card.  A request is then sent to the credit card provider to check if the projected cost of the guest’s stay (reservation forecast based on fix services) can be settled with the credit card and the respective amount is “reserved” for the hotel for a number of days. However, the credit card is not being charged at this stage.

Usually, SIHOT will automatically request another authorisation when posting additional charges to the guest’s account.
