Extra bed categories in SIHOT can be used to handle other hotel resources such as:
•Roll away beds
•Baby cots
•Garage parking spaces
•Bike rental
•etc.
The main advantage of using extra bed categories is that their availability - if entered in the reservations correctly - can be checked in the category rack, thus avoiding overbookings or enabling the hotel order extra stocks in advance if and when required.
In this chapter, roll away beds are used as an example to illustrate the configuratio and handling of the extra bed categories.
