The SIHOT.Kiosk is an optional module of the SIHOT.Product suite. It provides the software for a check-in terminal – dedicated computer where the guest can conduct a check-in without approaching the front desk.
The terminal runs with a dedicated guest login that gives access to specifically defined functions in purpose-made layouts only.
The SIHOT.Kiosk software is individually designed in the style and CI of the hotel. Also, the steps included in the check-in procedure vary from property to property, taking into account any regional legal aspects as well the hotel’s policy and procedures. A possible scenario for the check-in at the terminal might be as follows:
1. The guest starts the check-in procedure by entering the reservation number, GDS-number or scans the QR-code of his confirmation.
2. SIHOT displays the dates of stay and the form required for registration. Any details the guest has already advised are entered automatically, the remainder is to be completed by the guest.
3. Terms and conditions are displayed for the consent of the guest.
4. The guest signs the registration.
5. Upselling: upgrades to higher room categories, if available, can be offered to the guest at extra charge. See section Upselling for information on how to configure these upgrades.
6. If there is no previous room allocation, a selection of rooms with their pictures and descriptions can be presented for the guest to choose from.
7. Upselling: Extras such as breakfast or airport transfers can be offered to the guest at extra charge. See section Upselling for information on how to configure the additional services to be offered at this point.
8. The guest checks the invoicing address and enters any changes if required.
9. The guest pays for the fix services by credit or bank card. The posting of the services and the settlement is processed automatically in SIHOT. Also, an automatic email with the invoice is send to the email address provided by the guest.
10. Before completing the check-in, it is recommended to let the guest opt-in to receive advertising material by the hotel.
11. The guest can now use the coding machine to program his room key and proceed to the room.
