There are some functions in SIHOT which should only be carried out by very experienced users with a more-than-average knowledge of the installation as a whole. As some of these functions could potentially cause irreparable damage to the hotel, they are protected by a superuser password. This password is known to only few people and restricted to System Supporters only. The superuser password prevents less qualified employees to access these functions and thus from destroying vital statistics and hotel data.
The superuser password is not to be used for normal user login. It merely protects a number of functions from being accessed by less qualified users.
When trying to access a secured function, SIHOT displays the password–dialog.
• Ensure that nobody can observe you entering the password.
• Enter the superuser password.
• Proceed with the necessary changes in the program.
• Exit the dialog immediately.
è EXAMPLE: The password is required when deleting movement data, changing certain registry settings, introducing new statistics values, etc.
