Statistics – Line Descriptions

    Gross revenue

= Total revenue of the hotel, excluding expenses, transitory items and paid outs. This figure can be analysed in detail with reports such as revenue by revenue accounts or daily revenue by services.

    Room revenue

Revenue produced by accommodation. Usually, the revenue area for accommodation revenues is the area 0000.

    Accommodation/room net

Average accommodation revenue per room, excluding complimentary rooms.

    Revenue Areas

The revenue areas listed in this report are those of the combobox UB. They are further specified in the revenue areas master file and they are also assigned to their respective revenue accounts.

The GM’s report shows only those areas for which there is a revenue (no zero-figures).

    Expenses/costs/transitory

In order for these figures to be calculated correctly, the account classes must be configured accordingly (registry key [1622]). Normally, account class 07 denotes expenses, 08 denotes transitory items and 09 denotes paid outs.

    Complimentary

Guests are counted as “comp” if their guest type in the reservation is one starting with 5 (adults) or 6 (children). Thus, 5A is the usual guest type for complimentary adult guests. Use registry key [29154] to specify whether a room should be considered “comp” if at least one person in the room is complimentary or if all sharers in the room have to be on complimentary basis.

    % Occupancy

The occupancy percentage depends on the method used for the calculation. The method is defined under registry key [29153]:

A: 100 * (sold + blocked) / total

B: 100 * sold / total

C: 100 * sold / (total – blocked)

This definition is also referred to when calculating the reports house status and summary year available/occupied. If no method has been specified, SIHOT will use method A as default.

    Yield-Index

The yield index is calculated as follows:

Rev. accommodation / (rooms occ. * budget room rate)

Whereby the budgeted room rate equals the figure budget accommodation/budget room. All figures are referring to the respective period. The best value for the yield index would be 1.00.

    Adults

Guests are counted as adults if their guest type does not start with the figure 2 or 6.

    Children

Guests are counted as children if their guest type starts with either 2 or 6.

    VIP’s

Guests are counted as VIP’s if they have a VIP flag that has been defined as real VIP under registry key [29151].

    Length of stay

The LOS equals the number of stays divided by the number of arrivals.
