Shared Rooms

Shared rooms are facilities which may be occupied by more than one event at the same time. They are also created dynamically as and when required. When booking a shared room, SIHOT checks these factors:

the maximum number of persons allowed in the room

the maximum number of events allowed in the room (as defined under maximum number of overbooking rooms).

è EXAMPLE: The restaurant, where the participants of several separate functions can have their lunch breaks at the same time or the banqueting lobby, in which coffee breaks may be served for a number of overlapping functions.

The banquet room master file always displays the current number of overbooking rooms under number of overbooking rooms (which can also be seen in the event rack). Overbooking rooms which are no longer required can be eliminated using the function delete overbooking rooms in the context menu. However, only rooms without any reservation in the past or future will be deleted.

When setting up a shared room, SIHOT checks if this room happens to be a banqueting suite or part of a banqueting suite. If this is the case, an error message will be displayed automatically.

This check can be disabled by activating registry key [8279], so that a shared room can also be a banqueting suite or part thereof.
