Whenever the guest account is opened, the dialog for recording returns/losses pops up beforehand, listing the items currently lent out to the guest.
If there is no return at the time, press exit. If a guest returns just some of the items he has borrowed, also press exit.

Alternatively, highlight the security service in the list box and call up the context menu to obtain the same options of processing a return or loss for this particular borrowed item.

•Deposit: return
The guest returns the borrowed item. The deposit service is contra-posted and moved to the settlement account. The payment remains on the account as a credit.

•Deposit: return and refund
The guest returns the borrowed item and the deposit is given back. The deposit service is contra-posted and both postings are moved to the settlement account.
•Deposit: lost item
This option is used when the deposit cannot be refunded (e.g. it is not given back or it is broken). The original deposit service is moved to the settlement account and the service for lost items is posted to the account. The payment remains on the account.

i NB: After an item has been processed as “lost”, its status is changed to blocked and is, therefore, no longer available for other guests to lend. If applicable, you may manually change the status back in the master file to available after repair or replacement.
•Returning more than one item
If a guest has borrowed more than one item, you can record their return/loss altogether in one step upon opening the guest account. If the items are returned separately, highlight the respective item in the listbox and proceed with the options in the context menu.
