•Description:
This is a set number (= block) of rooms, reserved for a particular client over a defined period.
•Use:
For rooms that are reserved individually from the group block. The block is only being held until the option date.
•Rooming list:
The individual rooms and persons are gathered on one rooming list.
•Effect on availability:
All rooms are considered as tentative up to the option date. Rooms that are not taken-up by the option date are released (“split-off”). Thereafter, the reserved rooms are treated as definitive.
•Handling/processing:
Pre-blocked reservations are handled in one single reservation.
•Advantage:
Single rooming list and automatic split of non-required rooms, tracking and monitoring of the pick-up activity of the block in the category rack.
During the night run on the option date, the program release pre-blocked reservations splits the reservation in two:
•The guests on the rooming list are now holding guaranteed (i.e. “definitive”) rooms.
•The un-used rooms (i.e. those for which no names have been advised) are split-off and form a sub-reservation, which in turn is cancelled automatically.
If the registry key keep all rooming list entries when processing pre-blocked reservations [6145] is activated, all names on the rooming list are treated as guaranteed. If the entry is not activated, all guests without a room allocation will be released.
