General Procedure

SIHOT keeps track of the entire e-mail communication with your guests. Incoming and outgoing e-mails are saved under the tab trails in guest profile and can be called up at any time.

The e-mails can be saved within SIHOT in two different ways:

1.   SIHOT saves a reference to the e-mail in Outlook.

2.   SIHOT saves a copy of the entire e-mail in case the original e-mail is deleted or saved to another folder (thus invalidating the reference).

The adjustment is made under registry key Copy e-mails to SIHOT database [5772]. The advantage of the first method is the little memory space required in the SIHOT-Database, while the second method allows to reproduce even (in Outlook) deleted e-mails.

i NB: In Outlook, if an e-mail is moved from the Inbox to another folder, it is automatically assigned a new ID. This may render the link to this e-mail in SIHOT void. If the other folder is observed by SIHOT, the e-mail will be noted as being a new e-mail. If the other folder is not observed by SIHOT the e-mail cannot be restored.
