Automatic BAR-Calculation and Definition

BAR-rates are calculated automatically when running the programme calculate yield forecast (incl. option BAR-definition planning). The figures calculated by the programme are entered in the planning dialog. If required, these definitions can be overridden by entering different BAR-levels manually.

Figure 37: Calculating BAR-definitions

The following factores influence the calculation of the BAR-levels to be applied:

booking patterns of the respective yield classification period

day of the week

market segment

reservation type

    Pick-up pattern per

arrival day (Monday, Tuesday, …)

classification period

market segment

reservation type

maximum rate (yield and decremental factor)

    minimum and maximum hurdle

    turnaways

SIHOT calculates the default value based on the above factors. The lowest net accommodate rate across all occupancy options (number of sharers in a room) is used to determine the BAR-rate.

The column not-editable contains the following function: A double-click changes the icon editable  to locked . I.e. the data that is currently in production will not be changed. This may be the case if you have already adjusted the line in the production dialog manually and do not wish to override this setting.

The transfer of rates from the planning-dialog into the live-data (production) has in-build safety mechanisms to avoid unwanted changes or errors. By default, the user must enter his/her password to carry out the transfer. In installations where user name and password are required for login, the same must be entered here. Use registry key [8347] to configure that user name and/or password are not required to carry out the transfer the data from planning into production. However, in this case SIHOT will display a query before proceeding with the transfer.

In addition, the transfer will be recorded in the logging-dialog.
