This analysis gives you an overview of the BAR rates and their relation to the occupancy.
The analysis is called up in the menu Yield.
The data is calculated with the program Calculate BAR (menu Reports – Yield). This is usually be included in the night audit, but you can run this program whenever a recalculation is necessary due to changes in the occupancy or in the yield schemes.
The upper graph analyses the yield schemes that are in place at present. The x-axis shows the date, the y-axis the occupancy. The headline within the graph lists the yield schemes according to the yield scheme calendar.
The lines are read as follows:
Legend |
Analysis |
Corridor Occ |
The blue area shows how the occupancy range that befits the current yield scheme. If occupancy reaches the top, SIHOT suggests the next higher BAR-level; if occupancy falls below the bottom, the next lower level would be more advantageous. |
Current Occ |
The green line shows the current occupancy level. |
Reference Occ |
The red line shows the expected occupancy as calculated by the program Calculate BAR. |

• Top blue figure:
Occupancy percentage as of which the next higher BAR-level applies
• Green figure:
Current occupancy
• Grey figure:
Occupancy percentage as of which the next lower BAR-level applies.
• Bottom red figure:
Expected occupancy as calculated
The lower graph analyses the BAR rates. The x-axis shows the date, the y-axis the room rate. In graph’s headline, SIHOT lists the suggested BAR-levels according to the yield scheme analysis (and not the actual, active schemes as above).
The lines are read as follows:

Analysis |
Corridor Occ |
The blue area shows the rate range within the BAR-level that befits the current yield scheme. If rates reach the top, the next higher BAR-level applies; if occupancy falls below the bottom, the next lower level applies. If there is no lower level, the corridor goes down to 0.00. |
Current Occ |
The green line shows the suggested rate as calculated by SIHOT. |
Reference Occ |
The red line shows the current rate. |
Click on any date to see the following detailed figures for the day:
• Top blue figure:
Rate of the next higher BAR-rate that was defined in the yield scheme
• Green figure:
Suggested rate for current occupancy
• Grey figure:
Rate of the next lower BAR-level that was defined in the yield scheme (0.00 if no lower level entered)
• Bottom red figure:
Current rate
TIP:
If the red line (Reference occ) falls outside the blue area (Corridor occ), you should consider
changing the current yield scheme in the yield calendar and select a more
suitable rate.
