In times of high occupancy, guests may wish to be waitlisted at their preferred property and hold a confirmed booking in an alternative property as an alternative at the same time. These two reservations can be linked so that if a vacancy comes up and the waitlisted reservation is confirmed, the alternative reservation is cancelled automatically.
Ø Enter the reservations without changing clients, i.e. via accumulated category rack or rate information.
Ø Call up the history of amendments by clicking the icon in the status bar.
Ø Highlight the reservations to be linked and click Link reservations next to the listbox.
In the reservations, the icon Linked reservations is now visible and there is an additional tab listing all linked reservations.
Figure 13: Linking reservations
If the availability changes and the guest’s waitlisted reservation is changed from being waitlisted to a confirmed reservation, the linked reservation is automatically cancelled (status Turned away). SIHOT displays a notification for the user while carrying out this process. The link between the reservations remains for information purposes.

To remove the link between two reservations if required, proceed as follows:
Ø Open the tab Linked reservations.
Ø Highlight the reservation to be unlinked and click Unlink reservation next to the listbox.
