Rate calculation

The discounts or surcharges of a rate scheme can be a set sum of money (absolute value) or a percentage of the package’s rate. As one reservation may qualify for several discounts or surcharges at the same time, the method of Rate calculation will determine how multiple discounts and surcharges will be calculated:

•    Sequential:

In a discount rate scheme, SIHOT deducts firstly the category rule from the package rate. From discounted amount, any guest type discounts will be deducted. Then, this rate will be used for the nights defined in the Stay-tab.

In case of surcharges, SIHOT firstly adds surcharge category rule to the package rate. To this amount, any guest type surcharges will be added. Then, this rate will be used for the nights defined in the Stay-tab.

•    Summarised percentages first:

In a discount rate scheme, SIHOT adds up all percentages and deducts the combined percentage from the package rate. Any monetary discounts are then deducted from this amount to establish the rate to be charged per night.

In case of surcharges, SIHOT adds up all percentages and adds the combined percentage to the package rate. Any monetary surcharges are then added to this amount to establish the rate to be charged per night.

•    Summarised percentages last:

In a discount rate scheme, SIHOT first deducts any monetary discounts from the package rate. From this amount, the combined percentage of the other discounts is deducted to establish the rate to be charged per night.

In case of surcharges, SIHOT first adds any monetary surcharges to the package rate. To this amount, the combined percentage of the other discounts is added to establish the rate to be charged per night.

For example: The package rate is € 100.00 per night. A reservation qualifies for the following discounts:

•    20% discount for early booking in a double room

•    10% senior citizen discount

•    15.00 € cash back offer
