Certain reservation systems that are connected to SIHOT using a SIHOT.XML interface are sending so-called external IDs together with the guest’s data. The external ID serves as a unique identifier in the respective reservation system and are stored in the guest profile in the tab with extended options …, sub-tab External IDs.
The function External profile management is available within this context. If the reservation system is able to process this function, it will control that important guest data can only be amended via the reservation system itself (or a superuser, if necessary) and that changes cannot be made at the hotel directly. The following fields are affected:
• First name
• Last name
• Street
• Post code/Zip code
• City
• Country
All other fields (e.g. VIP, VIP2) can be edited at the hotel as usual.
If a guest profile is subjected to the profile management function, depends on the External type that is send by the reservation system.
NOTE:
The field External type is a client specific field
that may vary from hotel to hotel.
