Data security

With each hotel stay, large amounts of guest data are accumulated, some of which are of a very sensitive nature. The way hotels and their employees deal with this data requires, therefore, both integrity and responsibility in order to protect the guests’ rights. According to the European Data Protection Directive, the hotelier is obliged to establish sufficient technical and organisational measures to ensure the data is processed in accordance with the law.

This chapter section provides some important information and explanations regarding the implementation of data security measures in SIHOT.

NOTE:
Please refer to a qualified data protection commissioner to establish appropriate policies, procedures and measures for your property and the country you’re operating in.
