The number entered in the field Beds defines the number of guests who can sleep in the normal beds of this room. For example, if there is one kingsize bed in the room sleeping two persons, enter 2 in the field Beds.
The figure in this field is included in the GM’s report:
• The sum of these numbers in all of the rooms is shown in the figure “available beds” in the report.
• If the number of guests registered in the room is lower than the number entered in this field, the room will be counted as an “underoccupied room” in the report.
The number of additional guests that can be checked into the room, is entered in the field Number of extra bed categories. Here, you count all other options that can be used to accommodate extra persons in the room, for example: rollaway beds, sofa beds and even children sharing their parents’ bed.
For example:
To accommodate a family of 4 in a room with only one bed, the room might be configured as follows:
• Beds: 2
• Type: King size
• Number of extra bed categories: 2
